Uncovering new truths in the world of Data

Through reexamining and overturning traditional systems of values and beliefs.

About Datarealismo

Datarealismo is a blog focused on data management and strategy, aiming to redefine the norms and uncover new possibilities in the world of data. Realism is recognized as the first modern movement in art, which rejected traditional forms of art, literature, and social organization as outmoded in the wake of the Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution. The same modern movement is needed in data management as well, and it is not just needed; it should be a continuous activity. We live constantly in the age of enlightenment and revolution in this field.

Realist artists replaced the idealistic images and literary conceits of traditional art with real-life events. So realism is very close and depicts real life and real things, just like we desperately need this concept today (maybe even more and more in the age of information - and a significant part of the information is not confirmed).

Realism embraced the progressive aims of modernism, seeking new truths through the reexamination and overturning of traditional systems of values and beliefs. Datarealismo is doing the same between these modern ideas. Realism concerned itself with how life was structured from different points of view. How are data management, IT, and AI theories structured today.

In the arts, realism is the accurate, detailed, unembellished depiction of nature or contemporary life. Realism rejects imaginative idealization in favour of a close observation of outward appearances. Do we need this idea today? Do we need an accurate, detailed description of our actual world and life?

Realism was stimulated by several intellectual developments in the first half of the 19th century. Today, realism must be stimulated by intellectual and technical developments as well.

Realism was the desire to present more honest, searching, and unidealized views of everyday life. Do we need it today? Do we need it in state-of-the-art fields, modern theories, and technical architectures? That is what Datarealismo intends to give you.
